Eighty years after the Normandy Landings, learn more about the war’s pivotal events with historians Paul Beaver, Stephen Fisher and Clive Harris

80 years ago, Operation Neptune - the largest seaborne invasion in history - helped to change the course of the Second World War.

With only a handful of survivors remaining from what became known as D-Day, it has never been more important to understand its importance.

Follow three pivotal periods of the war on this exclusive six-day tour, beginning on the 'home' front, as historian Paul Beaver joins the group to navigate key Battle of Britain and London Blitz sites. From there you will head over to Dunkirk where to visit the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery and Memorial and Dunkirk War Museum, as well as the key beaches where the British Expeditionary Force staged their dramatic withdrawal, rescued by the thousands of "Little Ships".

You will enjoy a dinner with author Clive Harris, who will host a talk and Q&A to unveil more about the impact of this famous rescue and the context for the ensuing invasion of Normandy. After which you will travel to Normandy itself to see Pegasus Bridge, Juno and Sword Beaches and understand more about the fighting as it moved inland.

Making this tour extra-special is the company of renowned historian and author Stephen Fisher. Stephen will join your group for a walk along key sites on Sword Beach, and host a talk and Q&A - an highlight of the trip that will unpack both the history and tales of heroism and sacrifice from the extraordinary generation of men and women who helped to shape the events of the Second World War.
